Walgrove, Calgary, AB · August 2026

It's the kind of accident that can happen in any household. On August 23, 2026, a clogged second-floor vanity sink overflowed after the tap was left slightly running while residents were out of the house. By the time they returned home and discovered the damage, water had already spread through the second-floor bathroom, hallway, and a bedroom, then travelled down through the main floor's rear entry and hallway before reaching the basement mechanical room. What started as a simple clog turned into a multi-level water loss, with damage found in three separate areas of the home before anyone knew there was a problem.

Red Dot Restoration responded the same day, identified the source of the overflow, and mapped moisture in every affected area across all three levels of the home. The team removed affected baseboards and door casing and collected material samples to support the insurance assessment. Drying equipment, ten air movers and three dehumidifiers, was set up across the main floor, second floor, and basement mechanical room. Over the following days, the team returned to take moisture readings, monitor drying progress, and adjust equipment as conditions improved. Once the affected areas were confirmed dry, Red Dot removed all equipment and moisture-mapping materials, took final photos of every level, and closed out the file.
